Eagles on Lundy
This book covers the stories about the two German Heinkel bombers which crashed on Lundy within days of each other in 1941.
Some of the wreckage is still visible today, the history of each aircraft, crew details, mission, which ended for the first Heinkel crew by becoming POWs, on of whom came back to Lundy in 1991, read his side of the story.
The other Heinkel had a more tragic ending with two crew men killed and three POWs. Complete with photos of the aircraft wrecks taken at the time and photos of the surviving crew member whilst in POW camp in Canada, plus photos taken in 1991 when one German returned to see his aircraft remains and meet people who helped him and his crew before going into captivity.
